Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple or Sree Ananda Padmanabhaswamy Temple is one of the most famous Lord Vishnu Temples in Kerala,located in East Fort Thiruvananthapuram. Lord Vishnu is enshrined here in eternal sleep of yognidra lying on Sri Anantha, the hooded snake. According to traditions, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Kshetram is believed to have been worshipped by Chandra (Moon God) and Lord Indra (the head of the Devas). The idol of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is made up of 12008 salagramams that are from Nepal, from the banks of river Gandhaki. The followers believe that the Lord Mahavishnu has personally come in disguise and had saved Travancore Kingdom many times from the clutches of enemies..
Napier Museum (Arts & Crafts Museum)
Museum is built in 19th century in Indo-Saracenic syle and is named after the former Madras Governor General - John Napier.It a treasure house of architectural splendor, combining traditional Kerala styles, along with Chinese and Mughal Influences.The museum houses a huge collection of archeological and historical artifacts- bronze idols, Stone Sculptures, wooden carvings, ornaments dating from 11th century to the 18th century. There is a clock which is said to be 400 years old. The Sree Chitra Art Gallery in the museum compound features a rare collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and fascinating works from the Mughal, Rajput and Tanjore schools of art. An oriental collection consisting of paintings from China, Japan, Tibet and Bali offers a visual treat and are a tribute to the art and culture of these countries.
Museum is open from 10 AM to 5 PM except on Mondays,and special days like Thruvonam, Mahanami, jan 26, Aug 15 and Wednesday forenoons.
Trivandrum Zoo
Trivandrum Zoo was established in 1857 by the Maharaja of Trivandrum and currently houses about 82 species from around the world. The lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri langur, Indian rhinoceros, Asiatic lion, royal Bengal tiger, and leopard are some of them. It also has a snake farm with both poisonous and non poisonous snakes exhibited in it.
The zoo is open from 9 AM to 6.15PM everyday, except on Mondays.

Shanmugham Beach
Shanghumugham Beach is just 8 km from Trivandrum city and is a favourite destination for tourists to enjoy sunsets. Shanghumugham Beach has a huge, 35 m long sculpture of a mermaid, known as Matsya Kanyaka, an indoor recreation club, and a restaurant designed in the shape of a Starfish has attractions. Shanmugham Beach is near to Veli Tourist Village and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Beach is in a fishing village allowing tourists to watch fishing activities.
Veli Tourist Village
Veli tourist village is at where Veli lake meets the Arabian sea and is about 8 Km from Thiruvananthapuram. The tourist place offers boating facilities and tourist can hire peddal boats or speed boats to explore the charms of the lagoon.
Boat rentals is from 10AM to 5.30PM.
Together with water sport facilities, Veli yourist village offers a waterfront park, and a floating bridge. A sandbar separates Veli laggon from the Arabian sea; and this sandbar forms the Veli Tourist village. The most curious feature of the park is its massive climbing sculptures by popular local sculptor Kanai Kunjiraman.
Neyyar Dam
Neyyar Dam is a beautiful picnic spot that borders on the western ghat mountans which separate Kerala from rest of India. Dam is constructed on the basin of Neyyar, Kallar, and Mullayar. The Neyyar dam is a large park ideal for family picnic and houses the irrigation dam, a children’s park, crocodile park, deer park, the dam basin and most importantly the Lion Safari. Lion Safari is a combo pack of boating to the Lion Safari park and a bus ride inside the park. The watch tower at the top of the dam offers a panoramic view of the Neyyar Dam park and nearby areas.

Kovalam Beach
Kovalam beach
is a tropical paradise of international repute. The part of the beach that has a 30 meter Lighthouse is named as Lighthouse beach, and another part as Hawah beach. Kovam offers seafoods, ayurveda & yoga and water sports facilities. It is 16 Km from Thiruvananthapuram.
Varkala Beach
Varkala
is a seaside beach resort in Southern Kerala where the cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian sea. It is a very ideal tourist spot surrounded by the greenery, beautiful meadows, deep puzzling valleys and dales. The enchanting hill station dotted with tea gardens could rejuvenate oneself and cherish memories of this enchantingly beautiful land.
Poovar
Poovar is an Island paradise engulffed by backwaters opening out into the azure expanse of Arabian sea. Poovar is famous for its gorgeous beach, lush exotic greenery, coconut groves, banana plantations and emerald backwaters. The beauty of this island is further accentuated by a labyrinthine network of lakes, canals, deltas, lagoons, estuaries and rivers crisscrossing its terrain. During the high tide the island is linked to the sea by means of an estuary.
